- Define and maintain data ownership, data definitions, data quality rules and governance processes;
- Develop and monitor data quality rules and risk profiles to ensure the quality, consistency and reliability of data;
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, supply chain and other stakeholders to translate data requirements into clear definitions, documentation and practical solutions;
- Monitor data quality metrics and support data stewards in validating, cleansing and improving data;
- Identify, analyze and mitigate data-related risks concerning security, privacy and compliance;
- Ensure that data governance and data quality processes comply with relevant legislation and applicable standards;
- Support and train users in identifying and resolving data quality issues;
- Document processes, methodologies, definitions and findings;
- Contribute to process improvements and the further professionalization of data management within the organization;
- Stay up to date with new tools, technologies and methodologies related to data governance and data quality.

You will join an international technical organization working on complex projects with a strong engineering focus. Data plays an important role within the organization, both in project execution and in supporting decision-making and business processes.
The IT and data teams work closely with engineering, project management, supply chain and other departments to further professionalize the data landscape. The focus is not only on making data available, but also on ensuring its quality, clear definitions, reliability and proper governance.
As a Data Governance & Quality Lead, you will play an important role in this process. You will operate at the intersection of data, processes and the business and ensure that responsibilities surrounding data are clearly defined. You will support data owners and data stewards in improving data quality and help the organization use data in a consistent and controlled manner.
You will work in an environment where technology, collaboration and accuracy are important. You will have plenty of room to further develop governance processes, implement improvements and engage different stakeholders in the importance of reliable data.

- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in IT or a related field;
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience;
- At least 3 years of experience in program and project management, preferably within data governance, data quality or large-scale data transformation programs;
- Strong knowledge of data management principles and governance frameworks;
- Experience with relevant legislation and standards, such as GDPR and ISO;
- Experience with process development and process improvement; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is a plus;
- Experience with BI reporting and data analysis tools;
- A strong affinity with technology and an engineering mindset;
- Experience within a technical, industrial, maritime or comparable environment is a plus;
- Strong analytical and communication skills;
- Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is a plus;
- Willingness to travel or temporarily work abroad when required;
- You hold the required EU nationality and an EU passport due to the security requirements of the organization.
