Over de functie

Key activities and responsibilities include:
 

  • People management
    • No direct reports, but potential should be there - can be developed through various projects. Needs to be excellent motivator, able to communicate at various  organizational levels within finance and cross-functionally
    • Actively lead or support  continuous improvement projects and initiatives and development (“Good To Great”) vision
 
  • Financial statements and reporting
    • Participate in  monthly US GAAP closings together with Country Controllers and the US based Shared Services
    • Elaborate on tools allowing optimization in administrative, process and closing and reporting tasks to enable freeing up for more support in the risk management, analytical and compliance areas
    • Support Tax compliance, forecasting and accounting in close cooperation with EMEA Controller, EMEA Tax Manager, NL Center and US Tax team
    • Ensuring Compliance with Internal rules (CCP, SOX, FCPA, Market Funding control, Balance Sheet managementInternal Audit) as well as with local regulations through review, analysis and documentation of  processes within  the accounting teams
    • Contribute to preparation and review of key reporting  (SEC, Tax forecasting, US Tax packages) prepared by country and Center Tax teams
 
  • Process and Change management
    • Contribute to review of all accounting processes, analyze and document them, and ensure that they are in line with internal and external rules
    • Participate in the design and lead  implementation of standardization and optimization of all financial processes  in connection with cross functional EMEA and Global process teams
    • Detect any improvements needed in order to make those processes more efficient, and implement them in connection with EMEA Process improvements team and Governance Board
    • Ad hoc project  support such as entity mergers, liquidations and financing

 
 
  • Network with Business and  Functional Leads Commercial, IT & Supply Chain/Manufacturing
    • Create a strong network with business leads of all divisions and functional organizations  in order to ensure  controllership is well placed to advice on improvement, risk and compliance aspects of business projects  and decisions
    • Special focus on cross functional aspects of IT projects impacting on financial processes as member of various business process improvement teams.

Job description
This position is part of the EMEA Controllership, Tax and Shared Finance organization and will be based in the Netherlands.
 
The main responsibilities of the role consist of assuming responsibility for the German and Austrian entities and achieve its main goals of financial statements accuracy and driving process improvements.  The position will also have opportunties to support and develop EMEA wide financial process improvement initiatives and projects.
 
The position is reporting into an EMEA Accounting Supervisor based in the Netherlands.
 

Functie-eisen

Profile description

  •  5-10  years in accounting functions  , ideally with international experience within Europe
  • Strong Oral and written knowledge of German (either native or advanced level)
  • Willingness to travel to Dusseldorf on a regular basis ( up to 15-20% of time) 
  • Well organized
  • Willingness to solve problems and honor deadlines
  • Reliable analytical skills
  • Very strong networking capabilities
  • People leader potential  and motivator
  • Master US & local GAAP reporting
  • Experience with ERP/SAP process design and project management
  • Tax expertise is a plus but not required.
